Baby Nintendo Controller

They’re going to put it in their mouth. They are. Embrace it. So get them a nintendo teether that won’t electrocute them when they chew on it! Check out 3PrincessesEngraving‘s on Etsy! (I’m a geek over etsy).  Please, tell me, that you noted that it says “Nin-teeth-o” – hilarious. They have a bunch of other geeky designs too like phones, caluclators, remote controls (or if you’re Kris Kardashian it’s a “clicker”). And if you’re looking for non geeky – there are some super cute ones too – and the price is pretty fabulous. I wish I had known about these sooner!!

Rocky’s Star Wars Nursery

See. Geek can be Chic. Check out this awesome Star Wars Themed nursery I found over on Apartment Therapy’s website. Personally, I’m jonesing over the TaunTaun rug – at least that’s my humble guess of what it’s supposed to represent. Either way – kudos to these awesome parents for going big and tasteful with this nursery. Check it out more photos here.

You’ve been GEEKed

To be Geeked means that someone has forced their geekiness on you. For instance you will see the following photo of my adorable son in a tye-dyed onesie, hat, and matching booties. While I love me some hippies (One birthday my friends surprised me with a hippy initiation ceremony so I could be an honorary hippy) I didn’t realize that I needed a full tye-dyed layette set for my son. The story behind the clothes is priceless so if you’d like to check it out read on…

Hippy baby

Hippy Love.

My Studly Geek and I took a babymoon. At the time we lived in FL so we went in search of Fall weather and a low stress vacation. We settled on Ashville, NC – and had a fantastic time – the food is amazing, and hiking and mountain biking was great.

I had done my research and booked a prenatal massage at an establishment called Spa Materna. Like most of Ashville the theme of the spa was pretty yuppy-crunchy. You had your pick of painted belly castings on the wall to choose from for sure . Anyway, the short version is that I ended up getting locked in spa room accidentally, as the door actually had no lock. As a theatre major and construction worker’s daughter I’m well versed at removing doors, and while I did remove the handle myself, I eventually, just stepped to the side and let them kick down the door – since the workers were panicking a bit. Meanwhile, I was just fine, and highly amused. Well, to help me cope with my hormonal distress they assumed I was under they didn’t discount my massage, as I had hoped, but instead sent me home with the tye-dyed outfit.  And now I have some amazing photos of my son as a hippy gnome. Well played, Spa Materna, well played.

Settlers of Catan Pregnancy Announcement

Settlers of Catan is close to every geek’s heart. Probably even closer than the zygote Geek growing in their womb. What better way to tell the world you love your unborn geek than by also telling the world you love Settlers of Catan with this creative pregnancy announcement.

3 out of 4 of these might stink

Found this photo while on Pinterest. Would give credit if I could, but the source was missing. Anyway – this could be a pretty good geeky birth announcement idea. It’s kind of a great response to the repetitive “Our family is growing by two feet…” pregnancy announcement. Because nothing says meet our cute family like stinky and furry feet. You just need some stellar caption to throw on it… like: “Thought we’d help you get over your fear of feet…and infants,” OR “Someone didn’t get the memo that we weren’t crossing our feet,” OR “We’ve all been knocked flat on our backs with excitement to announce…,” OR “Guess which one just came out of a human…,” Or perhaps it’s interactive and their enlisting your help in ensuring their kid was born with all 10 toes. Either way, you’ll be a GIANT tease with this one.

Furry Children

It’s no secret that many people in first world countries treat their pets like children. We were no different prior to a child. We have cats named Widow and Widower. Yes, they are black, as we are not racist when it comes to our pets, however, despite their mourning attire we named them that in hopes that they would keep our Brown Widow spider population down – although that reasoning doesn’t work when you are explaining it to an actual widow. Then it’s just awkward and insensitive…in retrospect.

Anyway, one of my favorite actitivities, you know, when I was sleeping through the night regularly and not keeping a small child alive, was costuming the cats for holidays –  of which only remains on for a short time. Below you will find Widower in his Christmas attire. His other threads include black wings for Halloween – to which I sing loudly the old Batman tv show theme song “duh-nuh-nuh-nuh BLACK CAT!!!!”

Santa Cat

Christmas can be scary.

I beg patience as I start this site. I have alot to learn about actively blogging. Especially when images and other goodies are involved. Thankfully, my spouse is a sexy GEEK who will save the day.

He might get his first “Honey-do” list. On it will be this:

  1. Fix Ms. GEEK’s website so that people will think she’s cool.
  2. Teach Ms. GEEK to be a blogger GEEK

I’m assuming I will have to generate content at first. But if you know of geeky content in you own life or others….or when you’re out and about sneak a photo of a GEEK and then….
